As Unite states that they are pressing ahead with another BA strike vote, the sun continues to shine throughout the UK.  Self catering accommodation agencies and costal hotels are reporting that bookings for holidays within England, Scotland and Wales are up on last year.

Should the BA strike ballot endorse further walkouts, Unite is set to switch tactics, rather than a further series of five day walkouts they plan on guerrilla action aimed at disrupting BA without hitting its members’ pockets.

This would mean a series of sporadic one-day strikes which, in some cases, might be called off at the last minute. British Airways have accused Unite and its cabin crew branch of a lack of concern for both its customers and work colleagues.  “Their apparent wish to target the summer holidays of tens of thousands of families is deplorable,” the airline said.
